Heat Geek Mini Store
Turn your heat pump into a combi. The Mini Store is up to a quarter of the size of a standard cylinder, with hot water outputs to match three showers running at once.
Hot water storage that fits where nothing else will
The Heat Geek Mini Store is a range of super-compact shell and tube heat exchangers, designed by Heat Geek and manufactured by Newark Cylinders. At a quarter to a third the size of a conventional hot water cylinder, with sizes from 60L to 130L, it opens up heat pump installations that simply were not possible before.
22 million homes in the UK either do not have a hot water storage cylinder or do not have room for one. The Mini Store fits in kitchen cupboards, small airing cupboards, under-stairs spaces, and low roof spaces. It can be laid horizontally or wall-mounted for extra installation options.

What is the Heat Geek Mini Store?
Renewable energy sources need somewhere to store the hot water they produce. Unlike gas, they do not have extreme power density, so water has to heat up more slowly. For 22 million UK homes that do not have a storage cylinder or the space for one, this has made heat pumps difficult to justify. The Mini Store was built to solve that.
Designed by Heat Geek and manufactured by Newark Cylinders, the Mini Store is a pressurised shell and tube heat exchanger. It stores hot water at a fraction of the footprint of a conventional cylinder, with performance that makes it a genuine option for decarbonising homes where nothing else on the market would fit.
What the Mini Store offers
High flow rates
The Mini Store can deliver much higher hot water flow rates than a standard combination boiler. Up to three showers can run at the same time. That is not a claim most storage solutions of this size can make.
Fast recharge
Recharge time is where most compact storage solutions fall short. The Mini Store's recharge times are unmatched by any standardised hot water storage solution currently available. Operating at flow temperatures as low as 40 to 45 degrees, it works well with heat pumps and gets back up to temperature faster than anything comparable.
Fits almost anywhere
The Mini Store is around a quarter to a third the size of a conventional hot water cylinder. It fits in kitchen cupboards, small airing cupboards, under-stairs cupboards, and low roof spaces. For properties with very limited space, it can be laid horizontally or wall-mounted vertically using additional support brackets or cradles. Both ends include a ringstand, so it works in either orientation without modification.
Works with gas boilers too
The Mini Store is not only for heat pumps. Because it can transfer full power at low temperatures, gas boilers can run it at a flow temperature of under 45 degrees, possibly as low as 40 degrees. That gives you the highest efficiency gas hot water currently possible, with outputs comparable to a 250 to 300L cylinder.
Adam Chapman, founder of Heat Geek: "The Mini Store range is not just for heat pumps, because they can transfer full power at a low temperature. Gas boilers can be used at under a 45 degree flow temperature with these, possibly as low as 40 degrees, which will give the highest efficiency gas hot water in the world but with HUGE outputs comparable to a 250 to 300L hot water cylinder."
Is the Mini Store right for your home?
For homes where a standard cylinder is not an option, the Mini Store changes what is possible. If you have been told storage hot water cannot work in your property, it is worth asking whether the Mini Store has been considered.
If you do have the space for a full-size HG Series Cylinder, that is still the best option for most properties. But where space is the constraint, the Mini Store removes it.
